Trentonian "Booby" Richburgh
I am a retired Army combat medic who spent years on the frontlines focused on saving lives. Today, I trade triage for a lens. For me, photography isn't just an art form—it is a deeply relaxing way to slow down, find peace, and appreciate the beauty of the world around us.
Welcome to my portfolio! Below is a closer look at my journey and the philosophy behind my work:
From the Battlefield to the Lens
During my time in the military, I learned how to observe my surroundings under extreme pressure and how to focus on the human experience during its most critical moments. Those years taught me resilience, but they also taught me how important it is to find stillness.
When I retired, I picked up a camera to process that intensity and escape into nature and quiet spaces. Photography provides me with a calming outlet. It is a space where the only thing that matters is the light, the composition, and the peace of the present moment.
What I Capture
Because of my background, I see the world through a deeply human lens. My work primarily focuses on:
Nature & Landscapes: I gravitate toward tranquil outdoor scenes that offer a quiet, meditative escape.
Portraits: I love capturing the authentic resilience and quiet dignity of everyday people.
Veteran Stories: Documenting the military community is a personal passion, honoring the lives and journeys of those who have served.
The Journey of Healing
Photography has been a profound tool in my post-service life. Many veterans find that the arts offer a powerful way to decompress and process their experiences. By focusing on the beauty that exists around us, I have found a renewed sense of purpose and calm. You can read more about how veterans heal and find peace through creative outlets like mine on the Concerned Veterans for America Foundation or explore some of my visual updates on Instagram.
Thank you for stopping by and taking a look at my work. I hope my photographs bring a little bit of that same relaxation and tranquility into your day.
